I would be lying if I said I didn’t miss the London of six months ago: bustling streets, sardine-packed tube trains and overflowing pubs. At first, lockdown felt like a dreamy way to press pause on day-to-day life. We spent our hours outside of work playing video games, binge-watching Netflix’s most coveted series, navigating home workouts and reading an endless supply of books. Eventually, however, the days started to feel long, Netflix conquered and our flat smaller.
For those who may not know, I recently moved to London with my husband, J. It was a big move and boy, have I realized some ‘things’ (to take a page from Kylie Jenner’s book).
Time flies when you’re having fun is basically the motto of my last six months. I went from puppy training and lapping up summer in Chicago to suddenly it being a new year with new goals. I already know this is going to be another crazy, hectic, adventurous year but I am up for the challenge…
Moving has me daydreaming of our upcoming vacation to Jamaica. Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love packing because it gives me an excuse to purge. There is nothing I love more than going through our things and deciding what stays, what goes and what is donated. Moving to the U.S. with only a few suitcases however means there wasn’t much to purge, but it felt great to clear out the few things that no longer serve us…

My affinity for acoustic guitar was born after listening to my first John Mayer album (or maybe my high school boyfriend playing something from the first John Mayer album) and has only bloomed since then. While that relationship did not last, my love for guitar and nostalgia-inducing musicians only grew…
Have you ever thought you were one type of person only to discover you’re the polar opposite? I’ll give an example, two years ago my now-husband and I planned a one month backpacking trip through Germany, Austria and Italy. We peppered our itinerary with must-see landmarks, hidden gem restaurants, budget hostels and five-star hotels (for the odd treat). During the six-month planning phase, I perused Pinterest about how to pack a 50L backpack, googled tips for hostel-dwellers and Instagram creeped the crap out of wanderlust accounts…
2016 – wow, what a year. And I’m not saying that while reflecting on what happened across the globe in 2016. I am just reflecting on my own, little space. I got married to one of the best people in my world; traveled to Spain, Portugal and Morocco with my crazy family; I lived in the same province as my best friend for the first time in nine years…
