While my love/hate relationship with running often errs on the side of hate, I can’t deny how good it feels once it’s over. Plus, with the right music, trainers and route, an outdoor run, alone, can be just the thing to clear your head and improve your mood.
If I have learned anything about myself in this quarantine it’s that I can not be trusted with ‘online window shopping’ after a glass or two of wine. I’d be lying if I said online shopping didn’t quickly become a quarantine hobby (alongside playing The Sims and binge-watching the Real Housewives and Selling Sunset series).
I would be lying if I said I didn’t miss the London of six months ago: bustling streets, sardine-packed tube trains and overflowing pubs. At first, lockdown felt like a dreamy way to press pause on day-to-day life. We spent our hours outside of work playing video games, binge-watching Netflix’s most coveted series, navigating home workouts and reading an endless supply of books. Eventually, however, the days started to feel long, Netflix conquered and our flat smaller.
Wow, it has been a minute since I’ve written here. In an attempt to revive my old blog and get a bit more writing into my life, I thought I’d blow the dust off my little place on the internet to catch up with you all.
When I look back at who we were this time last year, I’m amazed at the differences. Sure, you still have that tuft of curls that fall across your forehead and I’m still an over-analyzing ball of anxiety when it comes to dealing with the American visa system, but oh, how we’ve changed. One year ago we got married in a small ceremony in front of a warm fireplace and most of our closest friends and family. The wedding, planned just five days before, was a blur of laughter, tears and the certainty that things would never be the same as they were in that exact moment…
